Private lessons are delivered 1 on 1 for 15 minutes. No parent in the water.
The overall outcome of this class is to provide a foundation for children to feel comfortable, relaxed and happy in the water to transition into our learn to swim program or a 30-minute private.
Littlefish classes have a strong focus towards aquatic survival strategies and water safety skills. What your child will get out of this level is overall water confidence and the ability to get themselves from A to B safely with minimal effort required.
Starfish classes have a strong focus towards aquatic survival strategies and water safety skills.
What your child will get out of this level is overall water confidence and the ability to get themselves from A to B safely with minimal effort required.
Clownfish class reinforces the water-safety skills already learnt in the previous class. Children move on from doing ‘Doggy Paddle’ and start to learn big arms and other ‘freestyle/backstroke’ drills, without overwhelming the kids with the technique work of the full stroke.
Bluefish classes focus on detailed technique for their Freestyle and backstroke. All of the skills they’ve been taught in their previous levels will be reinforced while we focus on length, strength and stamina.
Eels classes have a strong survival and water safety skill base and focus on overall water confidence and water safety skills. Children of school age will be taught how to save themselves in an aquatic environment, and how to get themselves from A to B with basic stroke development being introduced.
Seals classes begin learning the technique work of both freestyle and backstroke. School age children in this level will have a basic understanding of what actions move them forward and what actions keep them afloat when doing Freestyle and Backstroke through strengthening drills and detailed technique skill work.
Breaststroke kick introduced in the Seahorse class, as well as freestyle and backstroke technique being reinforced. Students will be swimming in the 8m pool and introduced to lane etiquette for this level and getting ready to move to the Marlin level.
Breaststroke arms and gliding technique is developed, as well as freestyle and backstroke technique reinforced. Butterfly kick will be introduced. Students will now be swimming 12.5m in the 25-metre pool. Working on stamina, fitness, and technique.
Swimming 25 metres to 50 metres the students will be developing their freestyle, backstroke and breaststroke stamina and fitness while maintaining technique. Butterfly stroke will be introduced. Students will also be introduced to tumble turns and develop race starts and finishes. Next level - Mini Squad.
