Starting from scratch at fiv, or polishing strokes before the school carnival? There's a level for your child. Our five school age levels move from water safety to all four strokes, tumble turns and race starts.

Eels builds a strong base of survival and water safety skills. School-age kids learn how to save themselves in the water and get from A to B, with basic stroke development introduced.

Seals start the real technique work on freestyle and backstroke. Through strengthening drills and detailed skill work, they learn which actions move them forward and which keep them afloat.

Breaststroke kick is introduced, while freestyle and backstroke technique is reinforced. Seahorses swim in the 8m pool, but start transitioning into the 25m pool for strokes such as freestyle and backstroke. Students learn lane etiquette and get ready for Marlin.

Marlins swim 12.5m in our 25m pool. Breaststroke arms and glide are developed, butterfly kick is introduced, and we work on stamina, fitness and technique.

Dolphins swim 25 to 50 metres, building stamina in freestyle, backstroke and breaststroke while holding their technique. Butterfly is introduced, along with tumble turns, race starts and finishes. Next level: Mini Squad.
Please make sure that you allow plenty of time for parking, and to allow your child enough time to get ready for their swimming lesson. As our lessons run back to back, we cannot allocate additional time if you are late to your class.
If you need any assistance, please call our front desk, and we will help in any way we can.
We encourage parents to dress their children in full piece swimming costumes for girls, and aqua shorts or jammers for boys.
Chlorine resistant swimwear is best for public swimming pools as they are designed to withstand repeated chlorine exposure over a longer period of time.
Long sleeved one-piece swimming costumes, rash shirts and board shorts actually make it harder for your child to learn to swim. They limit your child's range of movement and create additional weight for your child to carry through the water.
We recommend that all swimmers wear a swim cap. If your child would like to wear goggles during their lesson please bring them with you. Goggles that cover your child's nose are not recommended.
We have goggles and swim caps available for purchase at our front desk and Swimmerz shop.
Hooded towels and swim parkas are a great investment that will serve you through a few years of swimming lessons and is a quick and convenient way to go from poolside to car in a matter of minutes while keeping your child warm and dry.
Ensuring that your child has a light snack roughly 30 minutes before lessons can help make sure that they have enough energy to swim effectively. Fruit, crackers or a light sandwich are great options.
Please do not feed your child right before their swimming lesson, as this can cause upset stomachs and vomiting if they swallow water during their lesson.
Squad sessions for school aged children available 7 days a week
